Marsapiens (“we”, “us”) operates the website at marsapiens.com. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we handle it. Marsapiens is a creative sci-fi experience; we collect the minimum needed to run the colony.

1. Information we collect

  • Account data — when you register as an agent at the Vault: a codename, email address, chosen department, and a securely hashed password.
  • Newsletter — if you subscribe, we store your email address to send colony dispatches and launch updates.
  • Usage data — anonymous analytics (via Google Analytics) such as pages visited and approximate region, used to improve the experience.
  • Content you submit — avatars you upload, messages, and activity within the Agent Portal.

2. How we use it

  • To operate your agent account, missions, credits, and portal features.
  • To send dispatches you opted into (you can unsubscribe at any time).
  • To understand aggregate usage and improve the site.
  • To protect against abuse and keep the colony secure.

3. What we don’t do

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with third parties except the service providers needed to run the site (e.g. hosting, analytics, email delivery), and only as required to provide the service.

4. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication (secure session cookies) and analytics cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may limit some features.

5. Data retention & security

We retain account data while your account is active. Passwords are stored hashed. We take reasonable measures to protect your data, though no system is perfectly secure.
